Our 50th class reunion ~ just 12 days from now
Suggestion: Remember the blue class T-shirts we had at the 30th class reunion ~ if you can find yours, dig it out and wear it on Friday night along with some of the rest of us.
The committee has invited us to bring some snacks for Friday night ~ also, BYOB!!
Glenda Harvey Rusk and I will be handing out the reunion books on Friday night at Janice Phillip Harris’ event.
Carnegie Arts Center ~ Our class has been invited to display our art ~ so far two classmates are participating ~ hopefully there will be a lot more. If you are planning on bringing some art, let me know. Then I can notify the art center what to expect. Art is more than paintings. Suggestions are:
· Crocheting, knitting, quilting
· Cross Stitching, embroidering
· Glass blowing, stained glass
· Ceramics, pottery
· Woodwork, metal work
· Beading, jewelry making
Bring your craft ~ display it in the art center. It should be fun.
There is a group on Facebook called “You know you grew up in Alliance, NE if…” It’s fun to read, but need the class of 61 to get in there and do some remembering of our own ~ these younger AHS graduates have no idea how much fun we had growing up in Alliance. A few things that I have seen mentioned are
· Cruising the Butte
· Rex’s Hamburgers
· Pepe the clown
· The Candy Snap and movie theater
· Dr. Shannon
· The monkeys in the park ~ I had forgotten about that.
You have to request to be added to the group at the top…but it only takes a couple of hours until someone adds you. There are currently 1358 members.
See you in a few days for what we think will be the biggest 50th class reunion that Alliance has ever hosted.
