Thank you to all of my mother's classmates for all the kind words and support over the last week. She spoke highly of her classmates and her time in Alliance. On Friday Sept 17th we will have a celebration ceremony in honor of her at a beautiful chapel in Littleton, CO. Your out pouring of love for our mom and kind words has helped ease our pain. Please honor her in a fun way at your next reunion. Thank you so much !

9/11/2010 ~ Konnie Herman Graham ~ I was so sorry to hear about Anita's illness and death. Although I hadn't seen Anita in the past years I do remember her as being quiet, gentle, and a lot of fun. I am sure she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Cancer is an ugly disease and we need a cure to stop all our hearts from hurting. My sympathy goes to Anita's family and friends. We will miss her in 2011.
9/10/2010 ~ Penny Wright Wika ~ I was real sad to read about Anita Allen's death. I didn't know she had cancer, so the news was a real shock.9/9/2010 ~ Connie Sherlock Ackerman ~ Anita was a wonderful person and a wonderful friend. She was bubbly and positive in the face of all adversity. I am so glad that I have had the privilege to know her for the past sixty years. Every once in a while a bright light comes into our lives and Anita was one of them. I am so glad I got to share in her light. I know that now her light is shining in heaven. I will be looking for a sign from her that she is watching over all of us. I love you Anita now and forever. I will miss you and getting to talk to you, but I know that now you are pain free and can breathe knowing the cancer is gone. Your good friend forever--Connie
9/9/2010 ~ Ruby Roberts Coleman ~ I will always remember Anita's warm smile. She will be missed by all her classmates, particularly when we meet in 2011 to celebrate our 50th graduation anniversary. Her memory will always be with us. 9/8/2010 ~ Doug Bedient ~ Sorry to read of Anita’s death. Thanks for the notice.
9/8/2010 ~ Janice Phillip Lawrence ~ I was sorry to hear of Anita's passing. Several of us were so blessed to see her this past year when she visited Alliance. Her sparkling eyes, beautiful smile and positive outlook will always be remembered. My deepest sympathy to all her family.
9/8/2010 ~ Betty Lurvey Sup ~ Anita was a quiet, gentle soul. My prayers go out to the families and friends during this sad time. 9/8/2010 ~ Sharan Sallquist ~ How very sad that we had to lose such a beautiful loving person. I know how sadly she will be missed by all that knew her; but the memories we have of the fun, vibrant person we were all fortunate to know will never leave us. My deepest condolences to her family.
9/7/2010 ~ Betty Merritt Rohloff ~ Thanks so much for letting me know about Anita's passing. I will get cards out to her family. It's just too sad!
9/7/2010 ~ Ken Lincoln ~ Thanks for forwarding the news about Anita. She was a beautiful soul and I'll miss her presence among us.9/6/2010 ~ Eleanor Austen DeHaai ~ Ohhh, what a lovely, loving letter. Anita was much loved, that's for sure. I've thought of her so often these past few days, and I'm so sorry she's gone, and that she'd had to endure so much before her passing.. As Michelle said, Anita was beautiful. Inwardly and outwardly.
9/6/2010 ~ Glenda Harvey Rusk ~ It is all very sad. I did receive this from Jim, too, and it really made me cry.

Our friend and classmate, Anita Allen passed away, September 5, 2010. Here is a note from Anita's daughter, Michelle. "Jadon and Zoie" are Michelle's children. The current picture of Anita is on her birthday in June of this year.
My beautiful mom passed away Sunday at 7:30 am at home with my brother holding her after a battle with lung cancer as many of you know. She earned her angel wings & was able to take flight~she was very excited to be freed from her sickly body and meet up with her sister who passed 20 yrs ago and her father who passed 2 yrs ago. She promised me she would be diligent about watching over Jadon and Zoie, possibly needing high powered wings to keep up with them !
She was so brave thru this most horrible 11 month journey, she was the one holding it all together~ I named her "gluestick." She loved just about everyone she met and they loved her energy for life ! Thank you for your support, we are blessed.

I am sending addresses of Anita's mother (Dee Allen) and Anita's daughter. I believe the service will be held sometime next week-end. Throughout Anita's illness, our classmates ~ Pat Colburn, Connie Sherlock, and Jim and Velma Brice ~ spent one or two weeks at a time helping Anita during this rough battle.
