C ~ Mark Sheets, Jennifer  G ~ Kayla Sheets, Madison, Mya

I am married to Jim who is retired from BNSF as an engineer. We have been retired for a little over two years.  Last year we traveled to New Orleans for the Saints football game and the Mardi Gras.  Our travel took us to Destin FL where we spent two weeks with the Reeds from Alliance.  What an awesome trip and we will be going back to Florida in October.

My last 50 years include college at the UNL and landing a wonderful job with Xerox as a customer representative in Omaha.  I was with them for 15 years and obtained my pilot’s license so I could travel the five states I was responsible for.  I returned to Scottsbluff 30 years ago and worked with Scottsbluff Aviation teaching ground school and selling Piper airplanes.  Needless to say, flying is my love.  I have a son, Mark Sheets, who is an engineer with BNSF and his wife, Shonda, is a teacher.  Shonda’s mother is Toni Carpenter from Alliance.  What a small world.  They have one daughter, Kayla, now four.  Our daughter, Jennifer, lives in Scottsbluff and is studying nursing.  Jennifer has two girls, Madison (5) and Mya (2).  Jim and I enjoy our grandchildren and we manage to have each one spend the night with us quite often.  Lots of fun.

I am old, tired, retired, and falling apart with two new knees and recently a total foot reconstruction.  What is next?  I had coffee with Connie Sherlock Ackerman today and she asked why I am shaking.  Now, I suppose I have Parkinson’s disease.  Anyway, nothing can be done to recapture our youth so one must just go with the challenges that lie ahead.
