Steven Thomas BROOKS was born on 30 Dec 1941 in Torrington, Wyoming.  He died on 9 Feb 1999 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  Steven Thomas Brooks, 57, of Scottsbluff, was called to Glory while resting at his own home surrounded by the love of God, his wife and brothers and sisters in the Lord, Feb. 9, 1999, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. A memorial service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park.  The family requests no flowers as a memorial has been established to the Steve Brooks Memorial Fund. Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel iwas in charge of arrangements. He was born to Chester and Sara Louise (Olson) Brooks Dec. 30, 1941, at Torrington, Wyo. Music was his love since the age of nine. As his career in music grew, he had several country music bands over the years and recorded and released a number of records from Nashville and recording studios of his own inTorrington and Scottsbluff, as well as touring the midwest and south west with his bands. The last twelve years of his life were spent committed to his call to be a Prophet of God and sharing the Truth in both word and song. He is survived by his wife Sharon Elaine (Johnson) Brooks; two sons Steven Chester Brooks and wife Danielle and Rebel Dean Brooks, both of Ogden, Utah; two daughters Spring Renee Smith and her husband Jason of Rock Springs, Wyo. and Melody Margret Brooks of Brigham City, Utah; two stepsons James Wesley Huper and Brent Allen Huper and his wife Toni of Gering; one stepdaughter Kathy Sue Lovan and husband David of Springfield, Or.; parents Chester Brooks and Sara Louise Brooks of Torrington, Wyo.; three brothers Roger and his wife Mary of Brandon, S.D., Monty and his wife Twila of Scottsbluff, and Samuel Brooks and his wife Jo of Torrington, Wyo.; one sister Mikey James of Columbus, Ind.; fifteen grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, brothers and sisters in the Lord.   He was a Musican All of his life in Cheyenne, WY.  STEVE BROOKS' record of "Alabam" and "it's All in the Game" were released today on the Toast label, a branch of Cinnamon Records.  The popular Cheyenne singer, whose band, Steve Brooks and the Rounders appears at the Club Araby, went to Nashville to sign his contract with Cinnamon Records and to finish his recording session of "It's All in the Game."  Brooks' new release may be ordered from record shops (Order No. T. O. 316) and will be available soon in music stores throughout the city.  The Steve Brooks Fan Club is now international and has representatives in numerous states.  Wyoming's representative is Esther Schaefer of Cheyenne.  Peg Myrick, Club president, said her group is affiliated with the International Fan Club Organization and the Country Music Association.  Articles on Brooks and his new record will appear soon in country music newspapers and magazines, including "Country Song Roundup." These are available at City News, 18th and Carey.  KVWO will be amoung the first to play Brooks' record in Cheyenne.
